26 injured after Jodhpur-bound train derails near Rajasthan’s Pali

On Monday, as many as eleven coaches of the Bandra Terminus-Jodhpur Suryanagari Express are impacted post a derailment incident near Pali in Rajasthan during the early hours. The news agency PTI reported quoting an official that at least twenty-six passengers were injured in the train derailment.

“11 coaches were impacted due to derailment of Bandra Terminus-Jodhpur Suryanagari Express train. Higher officials have reached the spot. Buses have been arranged for stranded passengers so that they can reach their destinations,” according to the Chief Public Relation officer (CPRO), NWR.

On the other hand, buses have been arranged for passengers who got stuck so that they reach their destination. The officials informed that almost half a dozen trains scheduled to pass through the route have been cancelled or diverted on alternate routes.

“Within 5 minutes of departing from Marwar junction, a vibration sound was heard inside the train & after 2-3 minutes, the train stopped. We got down & saw that at least 8 sleeper class coaches were off the tracks. Within 15-20 minutes, ambulances arrived,” a passenger told ANI while speaking about the incident.

The incident took place at 3:27 am between the Rajkiawas-Bomadra section of the Jodhpur division. An official informed that railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was monitoring the situation. Also, it is expected that the railway minister will visit the accident site in the evening.
