3 Ways you can pimp your ride

There are many ways in which you can personalize your car and make it stand out from the crowd.Pimping itcan, depending on what you want to do, cost as little or as much as you want it to. Some people make pimping their rides a hobby and add to the visual effect over some time. This transforms a gradual affair and purchasing little extra bits here and there, into a time-worthy and well-earned reward.

#1 Personalized Number Plate

No doubt, the first thing you think of when someone mentions the term personalizing or ‘pimping’ their car is a personalized number plate. Although these are very commonly seen on the roads, there are still plenty of different variations to apply for.

It is well worth your time experimenting between numbers and letters to get the exact phrase or combination that you want, but do be aware that some combinations may not be allowed. When you have decided on the number plate or the variations thereof, you should start looking into Find number plate to make sure that it is available for you to purchase and register to your car.

#2 Exterior Paintwork

Changing your exterior paintwork can be easy if you know of a good paint sprayer and you have the imagination to choose which color combination you want to have. However, there are things you need to check, as they can also be expensive, so it is a good thing if you are set on the idea, rather than being indecisive.

You may even be able to have the colors that you choose sprayed on areas of the interior as well, but keep a note of what you have asked for, so that should your car suffer any damage or get scratched, you will be able to specify which color or colorshave been used and whereabouts on your vehicle.

#3 Using Transfers

Using transfers instead of having a full or even part re-spray could work out cheaper, especially if you are careful and apply them yourself. There is a vast array of different graphics, images, and quotes available online for you to peruse and choose from. However, it is important that if you are looking to administer the transfer yourself that you take time to read the instructions thoroughly first as air bubbles and wrinkles do not look pleasing to the eye and could make your car stand out for all the wrong reasons.

Another thing to consider when using stickers and transfers is their life expectancy. Unlike a re-spray, a transfer will only hold out for so long, even if you have a professional apply it for you. Although this could very well be several years,(depending on the location you store your car in and what the weather is like where you live),transfers lifting at the edges, curling at the corners, and even cracking all over like crackle glaze is not uncommon, but it is only surface damage, and your paintwork underneath is likely to be fine.
