Delhi deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia summoned by CBI

On Monday, the CBI started questioning Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged scam in Delhi excise policy. Manish Sisodia predicted that he would get arrested today as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) “plans” to stop him from campaigning for the upcoming Gujarat election.

The National Capital deputy CM called the case against him “completely fake” while the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also came in his support. “Nothing was found in Manish’s house during the raid, nothing was found in the bank locker. The case against him is completely fake. He had to campaign in the Gujarat election campaign and they are arresting him to stop him. But the campaign will not stop. Every person in Gujarat is campaigning for AAP,” tweeted CM Kejriwal.

Sisodia arrived at the CBI headquarters around 11.15 am, as per the officials. He was taken directly to the first floor of the Anti Corruption Branch for the questioning session. Ahead of Sisodia’s questioning by the CBI in the liquor policy case, CM Kejriwal shares an illustration which shows his deputy holding a shield named “Delhi education model” while helping a girl study while arrows named ED and CBI hit at him.

Manish Sisodia said that though he had been raided by the CBI nothing had been found against him. On August 19, the CBI raided Sisodia’s residence, almost post a month it registered an FIR in a case of alleged corruption in the implementation of the Delhi Policy 2021-22.
