Randi-Lee is an outspoken advocate for mental health, speaking at events that promote wellness. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, she is a mom to two teenagers, grandmother, wife, and competitive kickboxer, representing team Canada internationally.

Author Randi-Lee began writing as a teenager and published her first non-fiction book in 2017, Thoughts of a Wanderer, in which she elucidated depression through her poetry. That was the beginning of her career as a writer, and she released her second non-fiction book in 2018, A Mother’s Truth. Co-authored with her friend Renata DiCarmine they each share the story of raising their child with special needs.

Now she is all set to release her next non-fiction book, “Embracing Me.” In the interview with Lucia, Randi-Lee said, “‘ Embracing Me,’ focuses on mental health. In this book, I have shared many different ways that people can use to embrace themselves. This book discusses honest thoughts around suicide and the harsh reality of the feeling to hide those thoughts. At the end of the book, Randi-Lee provides worksheets to use that match the coping mechanisms discussed in each chapter.”

“I spent many years feeling alone and desperate for help but being too afraid to ask. Now I want to help those who feel the same way so that they can be helped; it is too late,” she added, “You aren’t alone, and I want everyone to know that…… let’s be honest and talk about it!”

Apart from this, Randi-Lee is working on her second children’s book, “The Life of a Cat,” and also trying her hands in short horror stories, A Little Scare, to be released as a collection of short stories.

This interview with Randi-Lee will help you understand depression at a deeper level and how you can help people struggling with depression.
