Interview With Music Band Burning Pools

HI! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! BESIDES MUSIC, WHAT THE WHOLE WORLD FINDS UNIQUE ABOUT YOUR BAND IS ITS NAME. HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME BURNING POOLS FOR YOUR BAND?
It’s actually a fortuitous combination of our last names. Kris’ and my (Ginger’s) last name is Pooley and Max’s is Bernstein. Thus Burning Pools was born!

HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET AND HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT, YES, WE FOUR CAN ROCK TOGETHER?
Kris and Max first met while working with Kesha a handful of years ago. Max was playing guitar with Kesha and Kris was music directing her tour. When it was time for Kris and I to put a band together, Max was the first person we called to see if he’d want to play guitar. We all got in a room together and it just worked.

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE FUTURE OF YOUR BAND DURING COVID-19?
We’ll just keep writing and recording songs. Hopefully some live shows will be able to happen this year. Fingers crossed!

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO A BUDDING ARTIST?
I would just say to write the music that comes out of you and trust it. Don’t doubt yourself. The more you write the better you’ll become at it. Listen to the music that inspires you and don’t try to sound like what’s popular. Be yourself and you can’t go wrong.

IF ‘BURNING POOL’ COULD TOUR WITH ONE BAND RIGHT NOW, WHO WOULD IT BE?
That’s a tough one! We might all have different answers. But mine would be Rage Against the Machine!

WHAT SONGS ARE YOU CURRENTLY SINGING IN THE SHOWER?
For some reason I’m addicted to the song Graceland by Paul Simon. To me it’s a poem in song form. I can’t get enough.
