RITIKA: WHAT’S FITNESS ACCORDING TO YOU?
Aneesa: Fitness is prioritizing and dedicating a portion of your life to taking care of your body by getting up and moving.
RITIKA: AT WHAT AGE OR STAGE OF YOUR LIFE DID FITNESS BECOME A MAJOR PART OF YOUR LIFESTYLE?
Aneesa: Fitness has always been a big part of my life because I grew up figure skating and had three older sisters who skated very competitively. It became more than just a sport recently when I realized that I have to take care of my body for it to last.
RITIKA: I OFTEN TELL PEOPLE THAT DEDICATION TO FITNESS STARTS WITH MOTIVATION. WHO OR WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO WORKOUT AND EAT HEALTHILY?
Aneesa: Me! I want to be in my best shape physically and mentally. I believe in moderation and doing something for yourself. Working out and attempting to eat healthily makes me feel good and that’s all that matters.
RITIKA: WHAT’S YOUR TYPICAL WORKOUT ROUTINE?
Aneesa: I love to jump rope! After jumping rope, I do some pilates or sometimes HIIT workouts and then stretch a lot.
RITIKA: WHAT GENRES OF MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO WHILE YOU’RE WORKING OUT?
Aneesa: There is not a single genre, it’s whatever my favorite song is at the moment on repeat!
RITIKA: WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL OF THE DAY?
Aneesa: Breakfast!!! I love breakfast so much because it gets me going for whatever the day brings.
RITIKA: WHAT’S THE MAIN RULE IN YOUR DIET?
Aneesa: Moderation. I believe eating to satisfy physical needs and goals, while also eating the foods you love is the key. I try to eat several small portions throughout the day.
RITIKA: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?
Aneesa: Ice cream and chips!
RITIKA: DOES IT DRIVE YOU CRAZY WHEN YOU DON’T GET TO EXERCISE?
Aneesa: Not if it is less than three days in a row. After three days, I start to fidget and need to workout.
RITIKA: WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER WORKOUT HEAVEN?
Aneesa: I love stretching and jump rope. I believe stretching lengthens my body and relaxes me, and jump rope keeps me in shape.
