For a while, television stars have been demonstrating that they deserve to be featured on the silver screen. After Naagin superstar Mouni Roy, another known star from TV, Mrunal Thakur is gearing up to display her acting abilities alongside Bollywood stars for the fourth time.
After achieving a positive response from the audience and critics for her acting in movies like Batla House, Super 30 and Love Sonia – Mrunal Thakur will soon be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in the Hindi remake of the Telugu film Jersey.
Jersey co-star Shahid Kapoor welcomed Mrunal by replying to her tweet. He in his response to Mrunal tweet stated that it is a pleasure to have her on board and totally sharing the same excitement as Mrunal.
Director Gowtam Tinnanuri who helmed the original movie will also be directing the Hindi version of Telegu film Jersey. On casting Mrunal, Gowtam said: “After Shahid Kapoor came on board, I only had Mrunal on my mind for the lead opposite him, I loved her performance and confidence in ‘Super 30’ opposite Hrithik Roshan and felt she’s perfectly fit for the part in Jersey and will do full justice to the role.”
Jersey is slated to release on August 28, 2020. Jersey will depict the journey of a guy who goes on an emotional journey to play cricket for his nation in his mid-30’s. Jersey will showcase Shahid’s character’s journey against all odds to play cricket when most of the players retire from the game itself.
