Pop Star Mimi Webb Credits Kent Upbringing for Inspiring New Album

In an exclusive interview with kmfm, Mimi Webb, the 22-year-old pop star from Canterbury, has revealed the source of inspiration for her upcoming album, Amelia. Recently nominated for her first BRIT award, Mimi credited her “countryside” upbringing in Kent for inspiring the album.

The former Kent College schoolgirl spoke about her BRIT award nomination and opened up about her love life during the interview. She expressed her excitement for attending the awards ceremony as a nominee and shared that her new single, Red Flags, is based on her past relationships.

Mimi rose to fame on Tiktok during the pandemic and has had several highlights in her career, including performing at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and returning to her old school as a special guest. The star said her album tells the story of a “countryside girl from Kent, Amelia, and then, Mimi, who travels around the world.”

Mimi has lived across the county in Gravesend, Medway, and Canterbury and is best known for her EP Seven Shades of Heartbreak and singles Good Without and Before I Go. She is up against big names such as Kojey Radical, Rina Sawayama, Sam Ryder, and Wet Leg for the BRIT award for a best new artist.

Red Flags, the first single from Mimi’s upcoming album, is now available, and the album will be arriving on March 3.
