Shilpa Agrawal is appointed as the brand ambassador of Fit India Movement

The fitness enthusiast, an Industrialist, and Mrs. Universe Lovely winner SHILPA AGARWAL has proved her mettle once again by achieving a new milestone by becoming the brand ambassador for ‘Fit India’ campaign.

Agarwal has been awarded with the prestigious ‘Fit India Campaign Brand Ambassador’ that is a part of ‘Fit India’ movement programme which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of National Sports Day August 29.

Shilpa came first among 30 women finalists, who from across the country applied for the race to become brand ambassador, in which Shilpa stood first and became the Brand Ambassador of Fit India Campaign which was held at Hotel Le Meridian Gurgaon from September 6 to 8.

The fitness enthusiast, in a statement said, “I was very happy when Modiji launched the ‘Fit India’ campaign along with the slogan ‘Hum fit to India fit’ as it was my burning desire to actively contribute to the Fit India movement.”

The contest which was organised by the Fitness and Sports Science Association (FSSA), one of the recognized and accredited fitness training organizations by Government of India. Several fitness enthusiasts, fitness experts, and gym trainers took part in this race to become the new face/ambassador of the movement”. There were 30 women candidates selected for finals at the event held at Gurugram from September 6 to 8. 

All these candidates had to perform challenging exercises like yoga push-up, bench press, Pilates, deadlift, squats etc. and for which each pose/exercise marks were allotted.

However, the selection process was not just limited to the physical attributes of the candidate, but also followed by questionnaire rounds and interviews to judge the contestant’s presence of mind, knowledge regarding health and nutrition. 

Shilpa was selected over other candidates not only for her passion for fitness, but also for her inspirational journey from being an obese child, a school dropout, a suicide survivor to a leading businesswoman and also a Mrs. India Globe winner. 

She said, “For me it is a dream come true because I like both fitness and traveling. To get a chance to motivate women of all ages to take up fitness and nutrition seriously that too while traveling all across India is something which I always desired.” 

Shilpa is all set to undertake the new assignment as it is a combination of her passion and desire, “I mean I am literally getting a chance to serve the women of this nation. Helping other women by educating them about fitness will give me a sense of immense satisfaction,” she said.

Finally she said, “Initially it might be difficult for a year so but then that is a challenge and I like to take challenges.’
