Varanasi’s Archaeologist, Prof Vidula Jayaswal to get National award

Archaeologist and former head of the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu University Prof Vidula Jayaswal, is nominated for Dr. VS Wakankar National Award. 

The department of culture, Madhya Pradesh government has introduced the National Award in the memory of Late Dr. VS Wakankar. This award is specifically meant to be given to archaeologists for their contribution to constructed creativity and outstanding achievement in archaeology and history by doing extensive research on the subject.

According to the archaeological officer Dr. Ramesh Yadav, Prof Vidula Jayaswal will be awarded for the year at her residence in Varanasi.

Prof Vidula Jayaswal is a noted archaeologist who completed her Ph.D. from BHU and received post-doctoral training at the archaeology department, University of Berkley, California, USA. She is the most deserving candidate for this award for her contribution to the field is marvelous.
