Interview: Buni Milani’s Body and Fitness 

HEY BUNI MILANI, WELCOME TO BLACKBIRD NEWS! WHAT’S FITNESS ACCORDING TO YOU?
Fitness is how you get and stay fit. As simple as that.

AT WHAT AGE OR STAGE OF YOUR LIFE DID FITNESS BECOME A MAJOR PART OF YOUR LIFESTYLE?
Just recently when I turned 30. After giving birth to my daughter my body was out of shape. I really didn’t care about how I looked at that point because it wasn’t my priority, but I wanted to be healthy. As a 30 year old mom, I work out three times a week to stay fit.

I OFTEN TELL PEOPLE THAT DEDICATION TO FITNESS STARTS WITH MOTIVATION. WHO OR WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO WORKOUT AND EAT HEALTHILY?
My daughter motivates me. I need to be healthy for her as well as myself.

WHAT’S YOUR TYPICAL WORKOUT ROUTINE?
50 squats and 50 crunches. That’s literally it. 

WHAT GENRES OF MUSIC DO YOU LISTEN TO WHILE YOU’RE WORKING OUT? 
All of them. It depends on what I feel like hearing at the moment.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL OF THE DAY? 
Lunch. That’s my biggest meal. But all are important.

WHAT’S THE MAIN RULE IN YOUR DIET?
I don’t necessarily diet, but my rule is, not too many sweets. Sugar is not my friend. 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?
I just make healthy decisions. Like, having a cheeseburger is okay for me to have, just not every day.

DOES IT DRIVE YOU CRAZY WHEN YOU DON’T GET TO EXERCISE?
I always have time to exercise. 

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER WORKOUT HEAVEN?
Yoga. I love yoga. I’m getting back into it.

WHAT IS SOME FITNESS AND LIFESTYLE ADVICE YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE TO OUR READERS?
I would just say do what works for you.
