In the ongoing Test series against the West Indies, India secured a resounding victory by an innings and 141 runs. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, West Indies were all out on 150 in the first innings.

When team India came to batting, they scored humungous 421 runs, losing 5 wickets. Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal made a debut in the first Test against West Indies and scored 171 runs.

In response, the West Indies batting line-up crumbled in the second innings once again as their team was all out at as low as 130 runs. India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, on the other hand, took 5 wickets in the first innings and 7 seven wickets in the second innings.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s 12 wickets in the match helped India beat West Indies big time. The 36-year-old spinner has equalled the record of Anil Kumble for the most 10-wicket hauls by an Indian in Test cricket.

R Ashwin becomes the 16th player to take more than 700 wickets in International cricket, as he has taken 709 wickets in total. From the great debut of Yashasvi Jaiswal to R Ashwin’s powerful bowling, India has surely shown their dominance in the first Test match.
