Polartropica is a gay, Taiwanese-American sparkly tiger-corn alien playing space dream rock for galaxy scorpions.
TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU STARTED MAKING MUSIC?
I started playing classical piano and trumpet as a kid. I spent most of my high school years playing in jazz ensembles, marching band and youth orchestras. I started writing my own tunes in college when I discovered rock bands.
WHAT’S YOUR PROCESS LIKE FOR MAKING MUSIC?
I usually build a song up from a melody idea that matches a set of lyrics I’ve written – and then layer on/add the rest of the production with my engineer. Our guitarist Alexander Noice and drummer Andrew Lessman will add in their parts to the track before we finalize the mixes and production.
